When visiting the Bill's Clockworks web site, you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you voluntarily choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis, and web site use information gathered on a collective basis as you and others browse our web site.
The shopping cart collects the information necessary to fulfill your order. If your item is to be drop shipped, your name and address are given to the vendor. Otherwise, your information is not shared with anyone. The shopping cart will place a "cookie" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") in your browser so that it can keep track of your items. The shopping cart uses a secure server system to protect your information.
Bill’s Clockworks saves the name, address, phone number and e-mail address you give when you place an order. If you wish to update this information, please send an e-mail to [email protected] or write to us at the address below.
If you choose to correspond with us through e-mail, we may retain the content of your e-mail messages together with your e-mail address and our responses. Your e-mail address will be used only to correspond with you. It is not given out to anyone.
Similar to other commercial web sites, our web site utilizes web server logs to collect information about how our web site is used. Information gathered through web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our web site, and the web sites visited just before and just after our web site. We may also use small pieces of code called "web beacons" or "clear gifs" to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them.
The personal information gathered by the Shopping cart is used to fulfill your order, and may be used to send a customer satisfaction survey. Web site use information may be used to study user browsing patterns in order to improve the web site's usability.
Bill’s Clockworks does not send unsolicited e-mails such as promotional offers.
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a web site, that site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.
The shopping cart uses a cookie to keep track of items you place in your cart. Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you.
E-mail is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us by e-mail. The information you may enter on our shopping cart will be transmitted securely via Secure Sockets Layer SSL, 128 bit encryption services. Pages utilizing this technology will have URLs that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP.
We do not store your credit card number. It is securely passed to our bank for processing and deleted immediately thereafter. Paper copies of credit card numbers are shredded after the sale is complete, only the last four digits of the number may be retained.
You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by e-mailing or by calling 1-888-742-5625.
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law or comply with legal process served on us or Affiliated Parties; (b) protect and defend our rights and property, the Site, the users of the Site, and/or our Affiliated Parties; (c) act under circumstances to protect the safety of users of the Site, us, or third parties.
At the end of the shopping cart "Checkout" process, you may have the opportunity to fill out a BizRate customer satisfaction survey. This will ask for your e-mail address, which will be used to send you an e-mail about finishing the survey after you order has been fulfilled. The survey is voluntary.
From time to time, Bill's Clockworks may conduct customer satisfaction surveys concerning our clock repair and sales, in order to improve our service. We welcome member feedback, always, but the contact information requested in the surveys is optional.
