If your new clock (purchased from Bill's Clockworks) is not operating properly, please e-mail us or phone us a 1-888-742-5625 and tell us the problem, and we may be able to help you adjust the clock. Most problems with a new clock relate to adjusting the beat and the chimes and need to be adjusted by the owner.

Most of our clocks carry a two or three year warranty. A few clocks carry a one year warranty. The description of each clock gives the length of its warranty.

Below are example warranties for the clocks that are sold by Bill's Clockworks

Hermle Three Year Clock Warranty

(Bill's Clockworks note: This is a typical Hermle warranty - see the paperwork with your clock if you need service.)

Limited Warranty - United States and Canada

Hermle makes the following limited warranties. These limited warranties extend to the original consumer purchaser or any person receiving this product as a gift from the original consumer purchaser and to no other purchaser or transferee (the "Consumer"). Hermle warrants to the Consumer that this product will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of the original retail purchase or five years from the date of manufacture, whichever date occurs first. All wood components and glass are covered by a limited one-year warranty from date of sale under normal use. The obligation of Hermle under this limited warranty is limited to repair or replacement, at Hermle's discretion, of this product. All warranty repairs must be brought to the point of sale and all products must be returned within the original carton to eliminate damage during return transportation. Exclusions to this limited warranty are unauthorized repairs, mishandling of the product, abuse and/or misuse of the product, modifications to the product/components, damage to the products and/or its components, damage beyond regular use, damage by environmental situations and/or changes of climate, transportation damage, accidents, or any acts by God.

ALL WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTIES SET FORTH ABOVE. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ANY WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES AND AGREEMENTS AND SIMILAR OBLIGATIONS OF HERMLE OR SELLER IMPLIED BY STATE LAW AS HEREBY LIMITED, THE FOREGOING EXPRESS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, AGREEMENTS AND SIMILAR OBLIGATIONS OF HERMLE OR SELLER WITH RESPECT TO THEREPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PRODUCT OR PARTS.

IN NO EVENT SHALL HERMLE BE LIABLE FOR AN INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT OR TORT. Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary by state or province.

Hermle Black Forest Clocks

North Coast Imports Two year warranty

(Bill's Clockworks note: This is a typical North Coast Imports warranty - see the paperwork with your clock if you need service.)

Thank you for purchasing a clock selected for and guaranteed in North America by North Coast Imports, Inc.

For fifty years, North Coast Imports has offered a select array of clocks that are not only treasures to behold, they are heirlooms to be shared from one generation to the next.

North Coast Imports warranties its clocks for a period of two years from the date of consumer purchase, provided the clock has been setup and maintained following the directions furnished with the clock.

The warranty does not cover setup costs (including hammer and hand adjustment or time regulation as described in the instruction manual), lubrication, broken suspension springs, unauthorized repairs, clocks not purchased from an authorized North Coast Imports dealer, or clocks that have been shipped improperly. This warranty does not apply to damage to the clock due to negligence, modification (such as switching weights, pendulums, or dial) or to other causes unrelated to defective material or workmanship. For proper operation and continued enjoyment of your clock, please follow the installation and care recommendations found with your instructions. If you have any problem that is not covered in your manual, please call or e-mail your dealer from whom you bought the clock.

Wood products may have slight variances in color due to wood grain and natural characteristics of wood material. Shrinkage and expansion of wood solids and veneers may occur with changes in temperature, humidity and altitude. These are normal characteristics of wood products and are not covered under warranty.

Consistency in room temperature and humidity is recommended; avoid exposing the clock to extreme changes in temperature, which may cause fractures in the finish, joints or veneers. Clocks exposed to extreme conditions (very dry or dusty, very humid, or ocean front) will require more frequent service to the mechanism.

Procedure to follow when there is a defect or problem:

  1. Locate and note the model number of the clock which is located on the outside end of the box.
  2. Locate the receipt or proof of purchase with date.
  3. Contact the Authorized North Coast Imports Dealer from whom you purchased the clock, provide the model number and nature of the problem. If you have moved since purchasing the clock, or if the clock was purchased from a mail order company, shipping costs are not covered under the warranty.
  4. All requests for service, parts or returns must be presented to North Coast Imports, Inc. by an Authorized North Coast Imports Dealer.
  5. If you need and have been approved to sent the clock back to North Coast Imports the clock must be received packed exactly as it was shipped out. All wall and mantel clocks need to be double-boxed with at least one inch of packing in every direction. The weights and pendulum must be removed from the clock and secured away from the case. The weights and pendulum should never be directly touching the clock case during shipping, and in most cases can be left out and kept for use with the replacement. A kit for proper packaging can be purchased as a price that includes shipping costs. Call for more information.

Freight Damage:

Damage caused by the carrier in transit between North Coast Imports, Inc. and the dealer/consumer is not covered by the warranty. Freight damaged products must be inspected by the carrier within 15 days of delivery by the carrier. In the event of freight damage or loss, a claim is to be filed by the consignee (person receiving the clock) with the freight carrier.

All expressed and implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose, are limited to the time periods set forth above.
