Carriage Clocks for Sale

This is the Carriage Clocks Gallery, containing two models.

The first authentic carriage clock was made in Paris at the start of the 19th Century, by Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823).

Carriage clocks are also known in France as Officers Clocks. The name is based on an historical anecdote. It is said that Napoleon, having almost lost a battle because one of his officers was late, ordered his military chiefs to carry a small clock with them at all times. Orders placed with master clockmakers always included the reference as "a clock for an officer" and this brought the name into common parlance.

United States Shipping: Our clocks will normally be shipped by UPS ground within two business days of receipt of order, and will be delivered approximately 3 - 5 business days after that (in the continental US). If there will be a delay in shipping, we will notify you, and give you the option of canceling your order. Expedited delivery is available at extra charge. Free Shipping: Items marked "Free Shipping" will be shipped at no charge to you within the 48 continental United States. The free shipping is by UPS Ground or Priority Mail, at our option. Free shipping does not apply to shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, or outside of the United States. If you return the clock for a refund, the amount we paid to have the clock shipped is not refunded.

Shipping Outside the United States: Our smaller clocks can be shipped out of the USA. Please e-mail us at bill@billsclockworks.com and ask for a shipping quote. Please give the model number, country and postal code. You (the customer) will be responsible for paying the import duty, if any.

Shipping and Billing Address: Our secure shopping cart will allow you to enter a shipping address that is different than the billing address.

Credit Card Information: We do not store your credit card number. It is securely passed to our bank for processing and deleted immediately thereafter. Paper copies of credit card numbers are shredded after the sale is complete, only the last four digits of the number may be retained.
