The dial is round with open center to show the gears. The quartz regulated astrolabium has a month and zodiac disc and sun, moon and earth spheres. Through the visible gear train the astrolabium clock movement reproduces the annual orbit of the earth around the sun, with the earth rotating on its axis once in 24 hours and the moon revolving around the earth in 29.5 days.
